Sandy Town Council owns and manages Sandy Cemetery in Potton Road. The cemetery is laid to lawn and the planting is maintained by the Council’s staff. The earliest modern burials in the cemetery date back to 1891 and space is now limited. However, we are still able to offer burials and interment of ashes during the hours 10 am to 2.45 pm Monday to Thursday and from 10 am to 2.30 pm on Fridays.

Information for Funeral Directors & Stone Masons
The small chapel in the cemetery may be used as a peaceful and pleasant setting for small civil or religious funeral ceremonies (of any faith). The building is unheated and has no electricity therefore ceremonies are permitted in daylight only. Please contact us for more information and charges.
St Swithuns Churchyard
Sandy Town Council is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of closed churchyards within its boundaries and therefore maintains the churchyard of St Swithuns Parish Church which is now closed for all burials.

Members of the public making enquiries as part of genealogical or family history research will be assisted by our staff team. We ask that you get in contact with us before visiting the offices or cemetery to allow time to research your request. It may be necessary to make a small charge if extensive searches are required.
