Central Bedfordshire Council and the Grove Theatre have teamed up to host a live theatre recording of Inside Out of Mind, a deeply touching and unique play about life on a dementia ward from the perspective of the patients, staff and visitors.
Written and directed by Tanya Myers, Inside Out of Mind is designed to be a tool for educating care professionals about the key issues in supporting those with dementia.
The event will take place on Tuesday, 21 February between 9:30am and 12pm and the showing will be followed by a panel Q&A session with Tanya Myers, exploring the film in more detail and discussing the realities of treating and supporting people with dementia.
Cllr Carole Hegley, Executive Member for Social Care at the council, said: “It’s hard to find people whose lives haven’t been touched by dementia somehow, and Inside Out of Mind promises to really make us think about how we support those with dementia, their families and the staff that work with them.”
“It was important to us to commission this screening to help care professionals in our area. We never stop learning and this is a unique opportunity to discover more about dementia, especially for those who work in the sector.”
